2020 Annual Report

Though 2020 was a difficult year, the Jeromy Brown Family Fund was still able to provide to the Fargo/Moorhead community in a variety of ways. We would like to take this opportunity to update you on what the Jeromy Brown Family Fund was able to accomplish during its second year as a donor advised fund.

The Inaugural Jeromy Brown Charity Bowl: "Knock 'em down with Jeromy Brown"

We hosted the 2nd Annual Jeromy Brown Charity Bowl on February 15th and, once again, it exceeded our expectations! Over 185 bowlers participated while raising close to $8,000. In retrospect, we had no idea that it would be the last time many of us gathered together for the year, and we were extremely lucky to have been able to host the tournament!

Giving Hearts Day

Since the Jeromy Brown Family Fund is a donor advised fund sponsored by the Dakota Medical Foundation it gives the Fund eligibility to participate in Giving Hearts Day, which is one of the most effective fundraising days in the country. The Jeromy Brown Family Fund raised over $7,500 while maxing out on the matches available during its second Giving Hearts Day.

Catholic Health Initiative Friendships

The Fund was able to give Catholic Health Initiative Friendships $5,000 to completely renovate one of their group home's restrooms with a wheelchair accessible tub. The Fund also donated $2,000 to ensure that each of CHIF's clients received a Christmas gift worth $40. The year 2020 was difficult for so many individuals, and seeing their smiling faces receiving their Christmas joy is what the Fund is all about!

Sunset Lanes

Our Jeromy Brown Charity Bowl takes place at Sunset Lanes in Moorhead, MN every year. They are generous hosts and go out of their way to assist in whatever we need on tournament day. After our first tournament we noticed that the location was not quite accessible for wheelchairs and scooters. The Jeromy Brown Family Fund donated ramps with our logo on them so that Sunset Lanes is now handicap accessible on all of their lanes!

Fraser Ltd.

$3,000 was given to Fraser Child Care Center in Fargo, ND which is a child care center that Jeromy attended when he was younger. The money was used to create the "Jeromy Brown Scholarship" that will be used to assist with tuition for working families and single parents who have fallen on hard times. With your help we hope to make this an annual contribution for years to come!

Red River Human Services

Red River Human Services Svee Group Homes provide support for people with intellectual disabilities in a shared home setting. Staff support people with community integration, social, leisure and daily living skills. Svee Group Homes was given $1,500 to provide their residents with outdoor patio furniture and activities to keep their residents outside and active during Covid.

Vocational Training Center (VTC)

$2,000 was donated to VTC for their new Aging and Dementia Day Program for adults with disabilities. This is a brand new program that was put on hold due to Covid, so we will keep you updated on a future blog post with details on the new Day Program.

All of this would not be possible without the amazing support the Fund received in 2020 from individuals like you. The Jeromy Brown Family Fund thanks you for your support and cannot wait to see what we all can accomplish in 2021!

Sincerely,

The Jeromy Brown Family Fund Board of Directors
